Duties: The successful candidate will develop and conduct research studies to determine the effects of aging on adipocyte function. The candidate will be responsible for designing and performing complex experiments that involve genetic mouse models and cell culture systems. The candidate will be expected to manage the project independently. Experimental techniques will include: basic molecular biology, mouse engineering, in vivo physiological measurements, gene/protein expression analyses, genomic studies, chromatin analysis and protein biochemistry. The candidate will be expected to analyze and interpret experimental data and prepare results for publication and presentation. In addition to this, the candidate will be responsible for training other research staff in the lab. In particular, the candidate will be responsible for directly overseeing and managing the research of at least one junior research specialist.

Qualifications: The minimum of a Master's degree and 3 to 5 years of experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience required.. Previous training in animal (mouse) handling and husbandry, cell culture techniques and molecular biology is required. Candidate must have excellent organizational and analytical skills and have a proven record of prior publication. Candidates with prior experience in animal metabolism, adipocyte biology and metabolomic studies are preferred. Previous experience in supervisory role is preferred.
