CLINICAL RESEARCH COORD A
Duties: The Clinical Research Coordinator is responsible for implementing the day-to-day operations for the Penn Medicine Nudge Unit, a first-of-its-kind initiative within the health care system to implement insights from behavioral economics into health care settings to optimize medical decision-making. This research uses choice environments such as the electronic health record and patient portals to implement nudges to increase high-value care and reduced unnecessary low-value care.
The Clinical Research Coordinator A will be responsible for all aspects of research project data collection, including development of a study website, maintaining the study website, participant recruitment, enrollment, study protocol, data collection, and data entry. The research coordinator will also assist with IRB management, adverse event reporting, and following up with participants for study milestones.
The Clinical Research Coordinator A will have active involvement in the planning and implementation of physician and patient recruitment into studies and will also maintain a patient caseload once the patients are enrolled.
Position is contingent on continued funding.
Qualifications: A Bachelor's Degree and 1 year to 3 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills. Understanding of regulatory compliance issues preferred. Experience working with electronic systems and data systems, and understanding good data management practices preferred. Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. Familiarity with MS Office Suite is essential. This position is currently funded for 1.5 year. However, strong performance may result in opportunities for continued work on newly funded projects in the future.
