Job Description: The School of Hospitality Leadership has a part-time (0.75 FTE) faculty position available as a Teaching Instructor (Lab Manager/Lab Instructor) to manage the Hospitality Leadership Kitchen Lab space and facilitate purchasing and inventory management as well as to teach lab sections to undergraduate students. This position is needed for the Academic Year 2017-18, to begin in Fall 2017. This position ensures the smooth and efficient operation of the Kitchen Lab space, Quantity Kitchen, Darden Dining Room and the Golden Corral Culinary Center. Key responsibilities include: Communication and working with other faculty, students and staff Communication/Purchasing with equipment and food product vendors to purchase products for the lab, groceries, linens, small wares etc. Receiving orders when delivered Management of kitchen maintenance Facilitate online sales and payment collection for lab lunch fees etc. Work with the county health inspector Organization of kitchen storage (dry and walk-in refrigerator and freezer) Other duties may be assigned by the Director

Minimum Qualifications: Acceptable qualifications include a master's degree in the teaching discipline or bachelor's degree with professional competencies such as related professional certifications and significant kitchen experience. All education must be documented from an appropriately accredited institution or certified as equivalent to required accredited education.
