Job Description
The Department of Environmental Health Sciences (ENHS) http://www.sph.sc.edu/enhs/ in the Arnold School of Public Health (ASPH) at the University of South Carolina (UofSC) invites applications for a tenure-track position at the assistant professor level in the area of Systems Biology. We seek a systems biologist with research/teaching expertise and interests in environmental health or highly cognate disciplines. The candidate should have expertise in computational and/or modeling approaches to examine (sub-)cellular, organismal or ecosystem-level biological responses to environmental pollutants, pathogens, or perturbations. The strongest candidates will demonstrate the ability to integrate multiple types of experimental data and complement the existing departmental strengths in microbiology, toxicology, and nanoscience. Collaborations with faculty in ENHS and UofSC, as well as externally, are expected.


Minimum Qualifications
Applicants must have a PhD in an appropriate field of study, such as Environmental Health Sciences, Biology or a related field.


Preferred Qualifications
Preferred candidates will have completed one year of post-doctoral experience, have the ability to establish an innovative, externally-funded research program, and to develop specialty graduate/undergraduate courses in the area of expertise.
