This position will supervise children in the after-school program, participate in outdoor activities, help with homework, and follow enrichment activity lesson plans. Demonstrate positive interaction with children, including the ability to treat them with dignity and respect. Demonstrate positive discipline through teaching and redirection and helping children to develop a positive self-esteem and sense of self-worth. Communicate with Director and Coordinator regarding daily behavior and other issues pertaining to the children as they occur. Maintaining a professional demeanor at all times, staying focused on work related activities during work, showing up for work on time on a regular basis.
High school diploma or GED. Ability to establish effective working relationships with children, parents, and co-workers. Ability to take direction, follow policy and procedures, complete tasks, and be a team player. Ability to record daily attendance of children accurately.
Must be able to provide 3 professional references
Anticipated Salary Range
OPS Position Starting at $8.50/hour
Required work schedule during the school year is Monday-Friday, 15-20 hours a week from 2:30-5:30pm required. Option to stay until 6pm (no flexibility in these hours - must adhere to this time schedule). Summer work schedule, 20-40 hours per week, daily time varies.
Criminal Background Check
A Level 2 fingerprint check is a condition of employment with the cost being the responsibility of the successful candidate. Recertification is required at 5 year intervals (at the employee's expense).
