The Department of Integrated Information Technology at the University of South Carolina invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position with demonstrated expertise in networking and cyber security. Candidates should have a doctoral degree in information technology, information systems, or a closely related field. Successful candidates will be expected to establish a strong, externally funded research program, direct student research, publish in archival journals, teach undergraduate and graduate courses, and provide university and professional service.
The successful candidate will have primary responsibility for undergraduate teaching in networking and IT security. Other teaching emphases may include introduction to IT, software development, mobile and Web technologies, database and analytics, or others as deemed necessary. Appropriately qualified candidates might also teach graduate level courses in health IT security or networking.
Our ABET accredited BS in Integrated Information Technology (IIT) (http://sc.edu/hrsm/iit) focuses on selection, creation, application, and integration of computer technologies within an organizational context. In addition to a solid foundation of core competencies, the program emphasizes IT project management, networking, IT security, web development, enterprise systems, and database systems. The department also offers a Masters of Health IT in collaboration with the Arnold School of Public Health. The expanding IIT Department is actively involved with the regional business and healthcare communities and is scheduled to move into USC's new Center for Applied Innovation and Analytics in August 2017. USC is also a founding member of the new SC Cyber Collaboration. (SC Cyber).

Ph.D. in information technology, information systems, or closely related field is required. Expertise in networking and information assurance and security is a must. Ability to establish a strong research program, publish in archival journals, teach undergraduate and graduate courses, and provide university and professional service.
Preference will be given to applicants with a research focus that complements the existing strengths of the Department. Appropriately qualified candidates might also teach graduate level courses in health IT security or networking. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of information technology and its application in the workplace.
Ability to establish externally funded research program, direct graduate student research, and engage with state cyber security initiatives
