The George Washington University Medical Faculty Associates, an independent, non-profit academic clinical practice group affiliated with The George Washington University, is seeking a full-time Director of the Stem Cell Transplant and Cell Therapy Laboratories. The Division of Hematology/Oncology of the Department of Medicine is part of a major academic health center located in the heart of the nation's capital. Appointment to this full-time faculty position will be made at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor and salary commensurate with experience.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will lead the Stem Cell Transplantation and Cell Therapy Laboratories as well as the Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) Laboratory at GW Cancer Center. They will be expected to build a state-of-the-art laboratory operation in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations that uses the following processes and procedures: Program monitoring, quality control, and improvement; establishing an organized cellular therapy program; GMP, CAR T-cell development; vector development; and other novel cell therapies such as engineered MSC, NK cells. Responsibilities also include leading a research group to transition cellular therapy approaches from the bench to the clinic and participating in national and regional stem cell transplant and gene therapy consortia.

Minimum Qualifications:

A Ph.D. or MD/PhD with experience working in an established research program of an NCI-designated Cancer Center are required. Additionally, applicants must have a strong record of extramural grants and contracts to support stem cell transplantation and cell therapy research.
