I. JOB OVERVIEW

Job Description Summary:

The new Primate Evolutionary Genetics Lab at George Washington University is seeking a Research Associate who will serve as a central lab assistant to help with basic duties and maintenance of the lab and help organize and curate precious data and lab samples. The Primate Genomics Research Associate will:

• Help oversee daily maintenance of the new Primate Genomics Lab
• Help develop and test lab methodologies which entails work in a BL2 genetics wet lab.

The position requires the ability to do PCR amplifications, nucleic acid isolation's and quantification's, and gel electrophoresis as well as some experience with bioinformatic analysis of genomic data sets.

MA/MS in biology, biological anthropology, or related field is required and 1-3 years of relevant experience.

Required Licenses/Certifications/Posting Specific Minimum Qualifications: Preferred Qualifications:

Must have experience with genetics bench work including DNA extractions, PCR, gel electrophoresis, and bioinformatics.
