Preferred Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications: An Associate's Degree and a minimum of 5 years relevant Information Technology work experience or a Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of 2 years of relevant Information Technology work experience Demonstrable expertise in the administration and integration of Enterprise-class systems required.

Responsibilities: The Application Systems Analyst position supports the college's administrative computer applications. This includes planning and coordinating the implementation and subsequent maintenance of college-wide administrative computer systems and application software used to provide data for college business operations in a timely and efficient manner. This includes defining requirements, developing and testing systems, solving problems, preparing related documentation, and acting as a technical liaison to ITS (Information Technology Services) and other college personnel. This position may interchangeably fulfill the duties of the Application Systems Analyst (Application Administrator) position. **Essential Duties:**Perform day-to-day systems' maintenance; investigate and resolve incidents for those systems Implement, interface, integrate, automate, and support both new vendor systems and new processes with existing systems Develop, maintain, and provide solutions designed to facilitate automated processes and system efficiency (internal and integration) Effectively utilize productivity tools to prepare system documentation, design specifications, file/table relationships, record/table layouts, report layouts, and user documentation as required Establish and assist with enforcement of criteria, policies, and procedures for testing systems and analyze results to ensure that all requirements are being met Remain current and learn new emerging technologies in information technology, and implement innovative solutions Actively participate in Application Systems Analysts technical support cross-training, and perform on-call duties, as assigned Promote and support college and divisional goals and initiatives **Core Competencies:** COMMUNICATION:

  1. Ensure that the Director and Application Support team is fully informed of the all activities pertaining to all projects, tasks, and incidents
  2. Communicate with college personnel to analyze the feasibility of new requests or to investigate problems they are experiencing with current systems. This requires the ability to interact efficiently and effectively to recognize and/or anticipate client needs.
  3. Effectively document meetings, discussions, decisions, and other project management artifacts
  4. Communicate environment changes to appropriate campus population
  5. Ensure that all application systems adhere to best practice standards
  6. Communicate with vendors to provide solutions to problems
  7. Advanced verbal and written communication skills
  8. Strong technical writer
  9. Familiar with call tracking and common support workflow
COLLABORATION:
  1. Work with functional areas to define scope and requirements documentation for projects
  2. Assist Application Support team with skill development and mentoring for team development
  3. Solicits input from team members and leadership to improve the quality and efficiency of solutions
  4. Lead technical discussions to identify, analyze, and define solutions
  5. Provides representation in cross-campus discussions and committees

PROJECT MANAGEMENT:
  • Manage and coordinate tasks across multiple teams to ensure successful completion of the project
  • Perform project management duties, and ensure all related project management artifacts you are responsible for are up to date and consistently maintained, in accordance with team's policies and procedures
  • Perform the role of a project leader, as assigned, by Director or team leader

  • Familiar with PMBOK / PMP project methodology, i.e. Initiate, Plan, Execute, Close, Monitor & Control

**TECHNICAL / POSITION SPECIFIC EXPERIENCE:**
  1. Extensive knowledge of computer programming languages
  2. Ability and willingness to stay current on relevant technology and to learn new programming languages, applications, and/or system platforms, as required
  3. Proficient in desktop productivity tools (e.g. Microsoft Office)
  4. Experience in Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and integrated systems preferred
  5. Expert knowledge in the technical aspects of computer software, including but not limited to
    • Oracle Technologies: PL/SQL, SQL
    • UNIX command line
    • Scripting languages
  6. Support Focus (Banner Support)
    • Database Technologies: Oracle
    • Other Technologies: Java, Pro*COBOL, Pro*C, and XML/XSLT
