Assistant, Associate or Full Professor - Theoretical Condensed Matter Physics
FACULTY VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT
The Department of Physics at the City College of New York invites applications for a tenure track position at the Assistant or Associate Professor rank in theoretical condensed matter physics. Appointment at Full Professor level will be considered in exceptional cases.
The successful candidate is expected to develop a vigorous, independent, externally-funded research program and have a commitment to excellence in teaching. Candidates will be considered at a senior level based on achievements, broad recognition and the expectation of future work at this level. Preference will be given to candidates whose work articulates well with present strengths and needs of the department.
The selected candidate will also share responsibility for committee and department assignments including administrative, supervisory, and other functions.

Ph.D. degree in Physics or a related discipline and at least one year of postdoctoral experience required. Also required are the ability to teach successfully, demonstrated scholarship or achievement, and ability to cooperate with others for the good of the institution.
