The Fitness Specialist serves as an instructor for credit fitness center classes and non-credit courses, conducts fitness assessments and consultations, designs exercise programs and offers personal training services. This position provides floor supervision, member exercise instruction and assists with overall facility operations as designated by the Program Coordinator. The Fitness Specialist reports to the Fitness Center Manager.Assist with instruction for credit and noncredit fitness classes.

Assist with monitoring of student activity and usage; supervise the floor.

Provide facility tours and instruct members in use of equipment.

Enforce Fitness Center policies and regulations.

Provide students/members with fitness assessments and exercise prescription.

Position Qualifications:
Associate's degree required. Bachelor's degree in physical education, exercise physiology, fitness management or related field preferred.

One year experience in the area of personal fitness or equivalent.

Current adult CPR/AED recognition card or willingness to complete prior to start of employment.

ACE, ACSM, NASM, NSCA or equivalent personal trainer certification.

Excellent interpersonal skills with aptitude for teaching.

Proficient in Microsoft Office software applications.

Ability to work independently and cooperatively.

Customer service oriented.
