The Administrative Assistant II reports to the Dean of the School of Liberal Arts. The Administrative Assistant II provides administrative management and coordination of faculty travel requests and reimbursements. The Administrative Assistant II will work in an exciting, fast-paced, and challenging environment that often involves multitasking and managing a variety of projects and requests.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Provides administrative support and assistance to the Dean of the School of Liberal Arts, including making appointments, scheduling meetings, maintaining calendars and email.
  • Places, answers, screens, and directs telephone calls, providing information or referral as required.
  • Assists public by providing general information by telephone, mail or in person.
  • Handles inquiries and correspondence for the Dean in his/her absence or as otherwise directed.
  • Manages daily operations of the School of Liberal Arts including maintenance of office supplies.
  • Plans and attends meetings on behalf of the Dean/staff and others in their absence.
  • Prepares correspondence, presentations, charts and coordinates various activities or events involving several different constituencies for the Dean and other staff members. This includes handling of confidential information.
  • Maintains office files.
  • Assists as needed with the planning and execution of events.
  • Manages student record system for the School of Liberal Arts.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.


Hourly Rate commensurate with education and experience with excellent benefits.

Minimum and Preferred Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or (GED) plus three years progressively responsible full-time related office management experience.
  • High level of technological proficiency, including Microsoft Office and other software applications.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and/or confidential material and information appropriately.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • A strong sense of responsibility.
  • Solid ability to anticipate and prioritize.
  • Demonstrated ability to work cooperatively as a member of a team.
  • Commitment to assisting the department in providing services to students.


  • Bachelor's degree.

Physical Requirements

Position may require local travel. Ability to lift and carry files and materials. Ability to move from one office to another office on campus. Adequate vision, hearing and manual dexterity to interact with people in person, on the phone and in writing.
