The Department of Counseling & Psychological Services at the State University of New York at Oswego invites applications for a Visiting Assistant Professor position.

Description of Responsibilities:  Teach graduate level courses in the school psychology preparation program. Will also teach courses in academic and behavioral intervention; supervision of student practicum, field placements, and theses. Candidate will also be expected to engage students in an active research program; engage in scholarly activity; advisement; and university and professional service.

In addition, this position will be expected to display a demonstrated potential for excellence in teaching and scholarship, commitment to undergraduate and/or graduate education, and possess communication and interpersonal skills sufficient to work effectively with an increasingly diverse array of students and colleagues.

Required Qualifications:

  • ABD in School Psychology or a related field
  • eligibility for New York State Certification in School Psychology
  • experience working as a school psychologist in a public school setting
  • ability to address issues of diversity in the provision of school psychological services

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Earned Doctorate
  • eligibility for licensure as a NYS psychologist
  • experience in writing and/or implementing educational grants
  • membership in and experience with professional organizations at the state and national levels
