FSLA Physical Trainer - Summer 2017

General Summary: The University of North Georgia is seeking applications for a physical trainer for the Federal Service Language Academy (FSLA). Trainer must be working towards or possess a degree in Exercise Science, Physical Therapy, Health/Physical Education, or related concentration. Applicant should have experience working with middle or high school students, have experience in designing specialized exercises, and will design/instruct case-by-case workout routines for students with injuries/disabilities. The dates of FSLA 2017 Session 1 are June 11-30. The dates for Session 2 are July 9-28.

Job Duties & Responsibilities: The FSLA Physical Trainer will:
  • Attend every physical training from 6:00am to 7:30am every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday throughout the six-weeks.
  • Administer first-aid to all injuries that occurs during training period.
  • Provide/instruct challenging exercises to students with injuries/disabilities while accommodating student designated needs.
  • Ensure that students with injuries/disabilities are receiving proper exercise routines that are equivocal to those students participating in regular exercises.
  • Secure and maintain confidentiality of student health information sheets, and communicate any special health concerns to appropriate personnel/supervisor as needed.
  • Demonstrate leadership, ability to work with a team, and practice confidentiality.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Knowledgeable in the areas of exercise science/physical therapy and first aid.

Certifications/Licenses & Minimum Requirements:
  • High school diploma required; Bachelor's degree in Exercise Science, Health/Physical Education, or related field preferred
  • First Aid, CPR, & AED Certification
