Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Program Director

Provides oversight, leadership, and management of the OMFS postgraduate program's clinical and educational activities.  Ensures the OMFS training program meets all CODA accreditation standards.  Develops and implements program policies and procedures.  Responsible for resident recruitment and retainment.  Intramural faculty practice to include maxillofacial trauma, pediatric oral and maxillofacial surgery, orthognathic surgery, TMJ disorders, pathology and recconstrution, ambulatory anesthesia, dentoalveolar surgery and dental implants.  Provides didactic and clinical teaching of DCG predoctoral students.  Interacts with interdepartmental programs to develop joint lectures and seminars.  Independent research and scholarly activities.

Minimum Requirements  

Requires DDS/DMD or equivalent dental degree, completion of an accredited OMFS program, and American Board of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery certification.  Requires Georgia dental or teaching license and CPR and ACLS certification.
