This is a full-time, benefits eligible, permanent (probationary) position designated as non-exempt under FSLA and eligible for overtime compensation. Work schedule will be Monday – Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. but may vary based on operational needs.
Under the general supervision of the Assistant Director for Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing (MEP) Services, the Central Plant Supervisor is responsible for directing the staffs assigned in the operation & maintenance of the campus central plant, co-generation plant, centralized steam and heating water distribution, all auxiliary and ancillary plant equipment utilized in the production and distribution of campus utilities.

Compensation and Benefits
Starting salary upon appointment not expected to exceed $6,592 per month (CSU Classification Salary Range: $5,673 - $7,189 per month). Salary placement is determined by the education, experience, and qualifications the candidate brings to the position, internal equity, and the hiring department's fiscal resources.

A minimum of two or more years of experience as a journey-level Building Service Engineer that includes some work or project coordination responsibilities. In addition, this position requires a minimum of three or more years of experience working as a journey-level crafts worker in one or more applicable mechanical or related trades, including one to two years in a lead/supervisory capacity.
Preferred Qualifications and Specialized Skills
Five years of progressively responsible supervisory experience in facilities operations and maintenance in a large multi-building facilities environment
Five years of supervisory experience in the operation and maintenance of the central plant steam production and distribution, or, process steam/heating distribution, or, a closely related field
Documented Supervisory Training from qualified organization, e.g., APPA or IFMA, Military
Previous experience with use of Computerized Maintenance Management System
Working knowledge of Building Automation Systems (BAS), and/or Energy Management System (EMS)
Working knowledge in Predictive Maintenance Technologies (PdM)
