Middle Georgia State University is seeking candidates for an Instructional Designer. This twelve-month staff position reports to the Director of Instructional Design in the Department of Distance Education and eLearning.  This position collaborates with MGA faculty in the design, development, and implementation of traditional, hybrid, and online academic courses.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

·Design and develop online instruction for all academic disciplines; advise and collaborate with full- and part-time  faculty in course creation; create and structure course content, instructional web pages, interactive multimedia,  and course assessments; evaluate the University’s distant learning courses for maximum effectiveness

· Plan and/or conduct appropriate training in instructional methods

· Provide support for delivery of instruction in all learning environments

· Participate in the identification and testing of technologies that may enhance instruction and its delivery

· Serve and participate in other University duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design or a related academic discipline (Master’s and teaching experience desired); knowledge of instructional practices, learning theories, teaching methods, and assessment techniques; clear understanding of learning environments; ability to develop various types of multimedia; experience with effective web-authoring practices, presentation techniques, and relevant software such as Adobe Creative Cloud, HTMLs, JavaScript/JQuery, Bootstrap, and CSS; awareness of and ability to implement ADA compliancy standards to online environments; superior written and oral communications skills with a strong work ethic; strong organizational and interpersonal skills; ability to contribute and implement creative and dynamic ideas both independently and as part of a team in a collegial environment; prior presentation and/or publication in an academic field a plus.

SALARY: Pay Grade 21
