Applications for a five-year Endowed Chair in Surgery at St. Michael's Hospital are now being sought. This is a renewable joint University of Toronto and St. Michael's Hospital Chair. The successful candidate will be an internationally recognized surgeon-scientist with an established research program and a focus on fundamental/ translational research and should be eligible for the rank of Associate/Full Professor within the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Toronto. Surgeons with specialty training in neurosurgery, general surgery or trauma/critical care surgery are especially encouraged to apply. Applicants must hold a Royal College of Physician and Surgeons of Canada Certification, or its equivalent. The candidate must be eligible for licensure in the province of Ontario.
Applications will be evaluated by a senior panel of University of Toronto and St. Michael's Hospital faculty in regard to the applicant's record of scholarly activity, national/international reputation, demonstrated ability to collaborate, relevance of his/her research, expectation for ongoing academic achievement and contributions to the field.

The salary range for this position will be $400,000 to $700,000 per annum.
