DESCRIPTION: Full-time (9 month) Biology Instructor
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES:: Teach assigned course load of lectures & labs, in both seated and online formats. Course assignments include, but are not limited to, Anatomy & Physiology, Nutrition, and Principles of Biology. Develop course materials and assessments. Provide advising to University Transfer students, serve on College committees, and assume other duties as assigned by Department Head or Dean. Work schedule may include both day and evening assignments. TYPICAL QUALIFICATIONS:: Required: Master's degree in Biology, or Master's degree + 18 graduate hours in a closely related field. Degree and coursework must be from a regionally accredited institution. Two years teaching experience required.
Strongly preferred: Community college teaching experience. Experience with online instruction and learning supplements (such as Moodle).

Applicants for full-time faculty positions are required to submit a statement of their philosophy of teaching and learning as it relates to the community college setting. Applicants that are selected for interview will be requested to present a fifteen minute lesson on a subject chosen by the screening committee.
