IT SENIOR PROJECT LEADER
Duties: As the Senior IT Project Leader for Infrastructure and Services, you will take ownership of Wharton's Enterprise Services Infrastructure, evaluating toolsets, changes, processes, and platforms, including advising on strategic direction for their implementation and deployment. You will provide guidance in supporting technologies including: Server and Service Virtualization (VMWare and AWS), Networking (Cisco, Dell, and Fortinet), Messaging Services (Office 365, BlueJeans, Slack), and other Enterprises Solutions and Services. You will bridge the gap between systems and solutions developers in order to balance resiliency and stability with innovation and quick service deployments. You will maintain a high-performing, highly-respected team of Systems and Service Professionals.
You will provide second-tier support for faculty, staff, and students at the school for client-side access to Enterprise Systems. Also, plan and deploy state-of-the-art collaboration software packages for use school-wide. Plan hardware and software upgrades and reconfigurations to meet changing demands.
This position requires a devotion to teamwork and partnership, an innate curiosity about the future of Enterprise Services, a real passion for team building and service management, and an appreciation for the criticality of a stable, reliable, and secure Services infrastructure. ITIL-based IT Service Management practices would be maintained throughout the service lifecycle. You will work with Senior Leadership to evaluate, implement, and standardize on new services and methodologies.
After-hours On-call responsibilities.
Provide leadership and professional development insight to direct reports of Systems Administrators, including performance reviews and goal-setting.
Qualifications: A Bachelor's Degree and 3 years to 5 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
Strong knowledge of operating systems and systems administration industry practices. Strong knowledge of core IT applications which may include: Server Virtualization, Document Collaboration, Cloud Infrastructure Deployments, Service Monitoring and Control, DataCenter Networking and Firewalls, Security Log Analyzers, Web Application Servers, or Non-/Relational Databases. Knowledge of networking concepts and systems and applications security practices. Strong familiarity with server, storage, and networking hardware.
Demonstrated graduated increase in responsibilities at previous jobs. Experience leading a small team. Ability to work with administrators, researchers, and other technical staff. Excellent verbal, written, and presentation communications skills. Work independently and as part of a team. Experience using ITIL or other IT Service Management framework for delivering services, including constituent/business-owner engagement and collaboration.
