Basic Functions: Lead the Knowlton Center as it provides students the opportunity to become optimal candidates for work or further education that is consistent with their talents, interests and values. Act as the campus expert on careers who will articulate in multiple venues how students gain significant value from a Denison education. Guide the Center's staff in designing and implementing strategies, programs, and relationships, which facilitate opportunities for students to successfully pursue dynamic and satisfying career goals.

Essential Job Functions: Project a presence and serve as advocate-in-chief of the careers work of the Knowlton Center and the University; articulate for internal constituencies, alumni and foundations, and other "friends of the College," the visionary program Denison is implementing on behalf of its students and alumni. Motivate and inspire a highly skilled and committed staff, and work with the Center's three directors to align its assets to yield the greatest benefits for students, young alumni, and other key constituencies with whom the Center regularly partners. Define and exemplify the gold standard in professional readiness. Execute the strategic plan to enhance career preparation and outcomes for students and graduates. Think creatively, strategically and operationally to achieve the following goals: * Effectively and efficiently execute the strategic plan for careers * Motivate people and resources across campus, including staff and student paraprofessionals in the Knowlton Center, to achieve exceptional outcomes for students * Leverage and mobilize the efforts of alumni and parent volunteers * Strategically expand opportunities for internships, externships and other exploratory experiences * Strengthen relationships with employers, graduate and professional programs, alumni and donors, and other friends of the college * Utilize institutional data and formal/informal feedback from employers and others to guide actions, including targeted services for underserved populations * Employ resources wisely for maximum impact, including people, systems, technology and programs * Determine, collect and utilize appropriate metrics for success that justify Denison's investment in careers Perform other duties as assigned or required.

Minimum Qualifications: Master's degree and demonstrated success in leading and managing teams to visualize and execute complex plans. (An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted). A consummate connector and collaborator, with a results orientation. A clear passion for making a difference in the lives of students and graduates. Excellent oral, written and presentation skills. Ability to articulate the future of career preparation and the strategies Denison might use to most effectively achieve its goals.

Preferred Qualifications: Outstanding strategist who can deepen Denison's vision for career preparation and accelerate its implementation. Demonstrated understanding of the ways predictive analytics, social media, and technology contribute to success strategies; ability to navigate both the academic and the business world, including working with faculty and employers; demonstrated ability to raise funds and work with donors; a creative, innovative approach to problem solving.
