Position Information: The Director of Library Organizational Design and Human Resources is responsible for supporting Library strategic objectives by partnering with the University Librarian and the central HR division to deliver a broad range of human resources services. It is characterized by a high degree of collaboration and coordination. The incumbent is responsible for recommending, developing, implementing, administering and/or evaluating the organizational design and human resources programs and services of the University Library. This position reports directly to the Associate Vice Chancellor of Human Resources with a dotted reporting line to the University Librarian.

Ability to organize work, establish priorities and meet deadlines.

Skill in analyzing policy, procedures, and other directives leading to the formation of actionable recommendations. Skill in reading, interpreting and explaining complex and/or detailed documents such as proposals, contracts, policies and procedures.
Skill in working independently and following through on assignments with minimal direction. Demonstrated strong initiative and follow-through, self-motivated and results-oriented.
Effective project management and organizational skills to develop goals and action plans, assess priorities and resource needs. Ability to set and meet aggressive commitments to achieve objectives while demonstrating flexibility to handle immediate needs. Demonstrated skill in evaluating project needs, determining approaches, evaluating impact of alternatives and making viable recommendations consistent with sound human resources principles.
Has advanced knowledge of human resources concepts, policies and procedures including employment practices, labor relations, salary administration, training and other areas of human resources as well as organizational initiatives relating to and/or impacting human resources.
Possesses strong conflict resolution skills.

Preferred Qualifications: Has working knowledge of the university's HR information systems.
