Rhodes College seeks a Director of Student Learning Assessment to work closely with the Associate Dean of Academic Affairs who oversees academic program assessment. The Director will provide expertise and support for faculty on the design, implementation, and analysis of student learning, including best practices in the assessment of student learning in higher education, reporting practices and interpreting assessment results to guide improvements. The person in the Director's role will develop assessment initiatives that align with accreditation requirements and continuous improvement efforts including working with QEP initiatives and other Southern Association of Colleges and Schools-Commission on Colleges (SACS-COC) compliance requirements. This involves integrating meaningful assessment activities and results with accreditation processes and monitoring curricular assessment programs to ensure assessment validity, quality, and accuracy. The successful candidate will work closely with Institutional Research, Student Affairs, Faculty and other members of the Academic Affairs staff to assess co-curricular and campus climate initiatives.Advanced Degree in a field related directly to Educational Assessment in Higher Education required. A minimum of three years of relevant professional experience, at least one of which must be in an education assessment related area. Experience with SACS-COC preferred. Experience using relevant software programs for reporting and decision support. Considerable knowledge of program evaluation and applied research design and analysis. Knowledge of assessment principles and tools in higher education. Working knowledge of program assessment processes and accreditation standards in higher education. Highly organized, self-directed, with ability to work independently as well as part of a team. Excellent analytical and quantitative skills. Excellent communications skills both written and oral. Strong computer skills and fluency in general office software (Microsoft Office) and with a variety of assessment-related software programs.
