RESEARCH PROFESSIONAL II
Job Summary This position will function as an integral member of a team to conduct soybean breeding experiments to develop superior soybean varieties and perform molecular breeding and QTL discovery work. The primary responsibilities of this position will be to assist soybean cultivar development with transgenic traits, assist in coordination of high oleic breeding nursery in Puerto Rico, prepare the grant proposals, reports and manuscripts, assist in advising graduate students, conduct research in QTL discovery for traits of interest, such as rust resistance, drought tolerance, genetic diversity and molecular breeding. Minimum Qualifications Master's degree and no experience or equivalent combination of Bachelor's degree plus experience and skills required. Area-specific certification and/or training may be required and other training will be provided as appropriate.
