Postdoctoral Associate - CMT

A post-doctoral position for an individual with a Ph.D. degree in Immunology (preferred), molecular and cell biology, or other related field that is available to begin immediately, in a research lab studying immune tolerance induction and adeno-associated virus (AAV) gene therapy in autoimmune disease. The position requires working with a mouse model (EAE) to study mechanisms of immune regulation and induction of regulatory T cells (Tregs).
Principal duties include:
• Developing innovative research ideas
• Designing and conducting experiments
• Collecting and interpreting data
• Assisting in project planning and timing management
• Submitting articles for peer reviewed publications
• Presenting research results at scientific meetings
$47,476-$57,504 commensurate based on qualifications and experience
Final Candidate will be required to provide official transcript to the hiring department upon hire. A transcript will not be considered "official" if a designation of "issued to student" is visible. Degrees earned from an education institution outside the United States are required to be evaluated by a professional credentialing service provider approved by the National Association of Credentialed Evaluation Services (NACES) which can be found at http://www.naces.org/.
Strong background in cellular and molecular immunology and the ability to individually implement and conduct experiments.
Technical expertise in advanced flow cytometry, confocal microscopy, DNA/RNA/plasmid manipulation, protein assays, and in vivo/ex vivo functional immunoassays.
Prior animal handling and techniques.
Excellent oral and written communication skills, will be expected to work independently, present research findings at scientific conferences, compose manuscripts, and assist in experimental design.
