Assistant Professor of Theatre - Acting/Directing
Colorado Mesa University

The Department of Theatre Arts at Colorado Mesa University, Grand Junction, Colorado, invites applications for an Assistant Professor of Theatre – Acting/Directing (tenure-track) to teach upper and lower division acting classes in a Stanislavski-based program. The standard teaching load is 12 credit hours per semester, and may involve online, hybrid and/or distance delivery modalities. This Assistant Professor will direct one main stage production in our four-show main stage season. Additional committee assignments, recruiting activities, advising, and departmental service required.

REQUIRED EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE: M.F.A. in Acting/Directing OR M.A. and significant professional experience. Degree must be from an accredited institution.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE: Evidence of successful college level teaching desirable. Ideal candidate will have professional performance experience. Colorado Mesa University is particularly interested in energetic candidates who have experience working with students from diverse backgrounds and who have a demonstrated commitment to improving the levels of access and success for underrepresented students within higher education.

THE DEPARTMENT: Colorado Mesa University is a growing public institution with an enrollment of more than 9500 students. The Department of Theatre Arts offers B.F.A. programs in Acting/Directing, Musical Theatre, and Dance; B.A. programs in Technical Theatre and General Theatre Studies; and, minors in Theatre, Dance, and Speech.
