Job description

The Theatre School at DePaul University invites applications for a tenure-track Faculty appointment in the Performance Department, starting September 2017. Candidates must demonstrate specialized, intensive training and experience in teaching voice and speech for actors with a clearly articulated pedagogy focused on integrated, somatic learning and release.

Candidates must possess an M.F.A. or professional equivalent. Candidates must evidence a minimum of five years teaching voice and speech for actors at the college, university or professional level, with a minimum of five years professional experience coaching speech and dialects using an embodied approach to the International Phonetic Alphabet. This position requires a high degree of pedagogical collaboration with other Performance faculty. Faculty play a central role in our production season including directing or coaching students in productions, regularly advising and evaluating students on both course and production work and participating in service activities for the School and university.

The School seeks candidates who will contribute to the development of a conservatory language that promotes connection between cultures and deepens understanding of cultural identities and perspectives in performance.
