Job Summary: The Department of Kinesiology at the University of Georgia (https://coe.uga.edu/directory/departments/kinesiology) is pleased to announce an endowed senior-level, tenure-track research position at the rank Full Professor beginning August 2017. We seek an individual with outstanding accomplishments for research in the area of movement impairments in children/adolescents with neurodevelopmental disabilities. The successful candidate will provide leadership in the Department of Kinesiology and beyond through outstanding accomplishments and future capacity in research on motor development in children's disabilities. It is expected that the individual appointed will maintain an ambitious research and development agenda appropriate to his or her interests, including developing proposals for external funding, overseeing project development and implementation, disseminating research through scholarly writing and presentations, mentoring graduate students, and collaborating with faculty on research activities related to the mission of the Department of Kinesiology (https://coe.uga.edu/directory/departments/kinesiology). The position provides the opportunity to integrate theory and practice in movement disabilities though the function of an established children's movement clinic. The Department of Kinesiology is based in the College of Education at The University of Georgia. The Department is closely affiliated with other departments that emphasize children's development and education. Pending University System of Georgia BOR approval, this position will be supported by an endowment, and its recipient will be expected to work collaboratively with other researchers, educators, and industry partners to advance research and theory related to children's movement disabilities. The candidate will hold tenure in the Department of Kinesiology of the College of Education and contribute to the instructional and service missions of this academic department.
Minimum Qualifications: -Earned doctorate in a related field (e.g., Kinesiology, Occupational and Physical Therapy, Psychology, Educational Psychology) -Established program of research related to children's movement disabilities -Established record of securing external funding for research -Eligibility for tenure and appointment at the rank of Full Professor in the Department of Kinesiology -Experience leading collaborative research and development activities Please review the Department of Kinesiology's promotion and tenure guidelines (https://coe.uga.edu/assets/files/kins/promotion-and-tenure-guidelines.pdf) for more information on requirements for the position of Professor.
