Job Summary: The College of Engineering (http://www.engineering.uga.edu/) at the University of Georgia seeks candidates for an Assistant Research Scientist position in Computer Engineering. We are interested in candidates in the areas of cyber-physical systems and security, fog/edge computing, big data analytics, distributed systems. This Assistant Research Scientist will be expected to lead and build research in both analytical and experimental aspects related to cyber-physical systems, computing and security, while working closely with Dr. WenZhan Song, the holder of Georgia Power Mickey A. Brown Professorship in Engineering. The strategic research focus include, not limited to, smart grid informatics and security, power plant and grid infrastructure monitoring and protection, machinery health diagnostics and predictive analytics, subsurface imaging for geo-energy E&P, and robot swarm intelligence. We seek a passionate researcher who will bring and further build their own research activities and work collaboratively with existing research teams that respond to and inform regional, national, and international initiatives. Minimum Qualifications: Qualified candidates should have a doctoral degree in Computer/Electrical Science/Engineering (or equivalent) by the date of appointment.
