Job Summary: The Institute of Higher Education at the University of Georgia seeks a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Higher Education beginning August 2017. The Institute is committed to advancing higher education policy, management, and leadership through research, graduate education, and outreach. See http://ihe.uga.edu/ The successful candidate will be expected to advise students, teach in the Institute's Ph.D., executive doctoral and master's programs, and conduct independent research. Priority will be given to applicants who show a focused emerging program of research with the potential for external funding. Founded in 1964, the Institute of Higher Education is noted for its multidisciplinary approach to the study of higher education. IHE offers the Ph.D., Executive Ed.D., and M.Ed. degrees and collaborates in a Masters of Public Administration degree through UGA's School of Public and International Affairs. The Institute and its faculty collaborate with leading programs, associations, agencies, and institutions to further the understanding and quality of research on postsecondary education overall. Minimum Qualifications: Candidates and nominees should have 1) a doctorate earned by June, 2017 in the social sciences, public policy, management, education, or a related field, 2) in-depth preparation in qualitative or quantitative methodologies (preparation in both is highly desirable), 3) an outstanding record of scholarly research on higher education, and 4) successful teaching experience at the graduate level.

Preferred Qualifications: In-depth preparation in both qualitative and quantitative methodologies is highly desirable. Priority will be given to applicants who show a focused emerging program of research with the potential for securing external funding.
