Assistant Professor of Writing and Rhetoric
The Department of Writing Studies, Rhetoric, and Composition at Syracuse University invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor in writing and rhetoric with a specialization in professional and technical writing and rhetoric of science. Specific areas of specialization may include one or more of the following: disability rhetorics, environmental rhetorics, medical rhetorics, rhetorics of embodiment.
The Department of Writing Studies, Rhetoric, and Composition is a freestanding academic unit at Syracuse, with a nationally recognized faculty and course offerings ranging from first-year writing to a Ph.D. in Composition and Cultural Rhetoric. Our department is also home to a growing major and minor in Writing and Rhetoric. The successful candidate for this position will demonstrate scholarly promise and teaching excellence and will join an active research faculty, teach undergraduate and graduate courses, and will engage in department leadership opportunities after tenure.
