Otterbein University seeks a tenure-track Assistant Professor (or non-tenure track Instructor with equivalent professional experience) to teach acting and to direct musicals and plays, beginning August 2017, in a program which integrates conservatory-style training and liberal arts education.
We are seeking a director and/or actor with professional experience in some or all of the following: Broadway, Off-Broadway, major regional theatre, or other high level professional equivalents. We require a teacher especially skilled in musical theatre to teach acting and musical theatre courses. Professional experience directing musicals and straight plays, university-level experience teaching acting, and a terminal degree (or equivalent professional experience) are required.
We encourage candidates with skills in teaching other aspects of performance and theatre, including, but not limited to teaching directing, improvisation, devised theatre, and/or children’s theatre, etc. to apply. Candidates will also be expected to serve on departmental and university committees.
