Dept. of Movement Arts (MAHPLS) Assistant/Associate Professor, Athletic Training
Department Summary: Bridgewater State University is the largest state university in Massachusetts and was founded in 1840. Historically, the University served a mission in teacher training until it transitioning to a liberal arts college in 1960. BSU is a comprehensive public university serving the residents of southeastern Massachusetts as well as a master's university according to the Carnegie classifications and enroll approximately 12,000 students, roughly 10,000 of which are undergraduates. The university's athletic programs compete at the NCAA Division III level. The Movement Arts, Health Promotion & Leisure Studies (MAHPLS) Department offers both undergraduate and graduate programs in the areas of athletic training, health studies and physical education.
Essential Duties: Teach courses in an entry- level CAATE Accredited Athletic Training Education Program. Advise undergraduate and graduate students. Make positive contributions to the content of the discipline. Provide service to the University, profession and community.
Required Qualifications: Earned doctorate in Athletic Training or related field. NATA certification required, and eligible for licensure in Massachusetts as an athletic trainer. Demonstrated teaching experience in a CAATE accredited program. At least one year of demonstrated experience in the clinical supervision of athletic training students.
Preferred Qualifications: Demonstrated experience with integration of technology in the classroom. Demonstrated scholarly contributions to the athletic training profession. Experience teaching diverse students in a multicultural environment. Experience in on-line teaching. Experience in curriculum development. Experience with international program development.
