Assistant Professor: Modern Spanish Peninsular Literary and Cultural Studies

The Department of Spanish and Portuguese invites applications for a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor in the field of Modern Spanish Peninsular literary and cultural studies. Also, ability to teach undergraduate and graduate level survey courses in Golden Age literature and film courses is highly desirable.  Candidate must demonstrate native or near-native proficiency in Spanish and English.  Capacity to build connections with the Portuguese-speaking world, in the candidate’s teaching and/or research, is welcome. The successful candidate will offer evidence of a strong scholarly agenda, teaching effectiveness, and the ability to work well with students from diverse cultural backgrounds. Ph.D. in hand by May, 2017. Salary is commensurate with education and experience.
