The position plays a critical role in the operations of the School of Law, providing personnel and budgetary support. The HR & Budget Coordinator handles all personnel functions, including the creation of job requisitions, hiring of staff and faculty, creating and maintaining personnel files, including full-time benefits-eligible employees, full-time and part-time faculty and administrative staff, weekly & hourly. This position also oversees the on-boarding and off-boarding processes, as well as all HR paperwork that relate to the above functions.
This position also is responsible for all financial transactions of the School of Law. Such responsibilities include managing daily transactions of the College's budget, including verifying and processing expense reimbursements, ensuring internal university and college policies are followed, executing budget transfers, creating journal vouchers, doing monthly budget reconciliations, tracking and processing commitments, tracking and reporting on department budgets. She/he will serve as a liaison to department administrators on financial matters. She/he will assist the Director of Budget and Personnel Operations and the Associate Dean for Finance and Administration.
Provide the minimum education, experience, and skills required to perform the job successfully.
A Bachelor degree is required. Three Five years of personnel and /or budget experience, preferably in high education, is required. Must have a strong grasp of the Microsoft Office Suite. The successful candidate will be mature, professional in work habits and appearance, will possess a strong work ethicgood attendance and timely arrival are expected. Must have excellent initiative and follow-through skills, working well on his/her own and as a team player. The ability to work in a busy, sometimes hectic environment is necessary. Must be comfortable working with a diverse population. Confidentiality is absolutely critical to this position. Must be a good communicator, both written and oral, have attention to detail and be able to work independently. Must be well organized and have the ability to multi-task and prioritize. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel. Must have the ability to learn computer systems and databases as necessary. Must maintain confidentiality and present good discretion and judgment in decision-making.
