The Northeastern Center for Health Policy and Law, at the Northeastern University School of Law, is dedicated to advancing interdisciplinary research and dialog on critical issues relating to health law and policy both within the U.S. and globally. Housed within the School of Law (NUSL), the Center's affiliated faculty have appointments across Northeastern University's schools and colleges, and conduct research on a wide array of issues, including public health law, health and human rights, health governance, health care financing, drug law, elder law, law and medicine, intellectual property law, bioethics, and the regulation of the health care system. The Center supports a broad curriculum in health and public health law, and sponsors conferences, lectures, colloquia, a Health Law Moot Court team, and workshops that introduce students to career opportunities in health policy and law.

The Center now seeks to hire its first Managing Director. The Managing Director will provide long-term and day-to-day leadership and management of the Center, with direction from the Center's Faculty Director and in collaboration with center faculty. The Managing Director will have responsibility for organizing the Center's lectures, colloquia and conferences, will help recruit and take the lead in supervising and providing support for one or more research fellows, will be responsible for grant-writing and supporting the Center's externally-funded research, will propose and manage the Center's budget, work with the Faculty Director and the Director of Development to create an Advisory Board, and in conjunction with faculty and the Director of Alternative Markets, will develop and implement strategies to enhance career opportunities for NUSL graduates. The Managing Director will also work with the Dean, Associate Deans, and the Director for On-Line and Hybrid programs to develop new and expand existing non-JD programs relating to health policy and law


J.D. degree or terminal degree related to health policy and law
Minimum 5 years of experience in health law or policy
Minimum 3 years of administrative and supervisory experience
A significant track record of grant-writing and grant-funded research
Commitment to diversity
Ability to effectively communicate complex facts and ideas both in writing and in face-to-face presentations
High level of skill in working collaboratively with individuals and groups
