Coordinate and administer all aspects of employee leaves of absence to ensure compliance with university policies, federal and state leave regulations, while providing instruction, guidance and excellent customer service to employees and managers. Provide administration that is consistent, timely and accurate. Keep abreast of leave related statutory/regulatory changes and best practices. Assist in other benefits department responsibilities including assisting at events (i.e. open enrollment, benefits fair etc). Knowledgeable about benefits as it relates to leaves of absence and long term disability: flexible spending, life insurance, 403b retirement plans, voluntary benefits and COBRA in order to respond to benefit questions that arise.
Minimum of Bachelors degree and 4-6 years of related experience. Must have demonstrated organizational skills and strong attention to detail, follow through and responsiveness, as well and demonstrated ability to handle sensitive and confidential information. Excellent communications skills are required, both written and oral. Working knowledge of state and federal and state laws and regulations related to leaves. Computer skills: Excel, Access, Word and experience with Banner a plus.
