This Boston based role, Project Manager, is the primary liaison between Boston's Main Campus and new international campuses as they are being conceived and implemented. This position is the project manager for the actual establishment of the Toronto Campus as well as any additional international campuses as they are identified and approved. The Project Manager manages the day to day logistical operations of the campus as it is being established. Encompassed within this role is the responsibility of providing relationship management to key stakeholders both internally and externally as they are needed to move the campus to be fully functional.
The Project Manager is accountable for providing timely planning of all projects associated with the establishment of an international campus. This includes developing the overall project plan, developing and managing project schedules, risk assessment planning and management, communication plans, project status reports, leading meetings, issuing of meeting minutes, project status summaries, ensuring effective management follow up of open action items as indicated on the issues log. Additionally, the Project Manager will ensure that all post project activities associated with the closing of the project will be completed. This includes but is not limited to conducting a formal lessons learned and ensuring transitioning work to the appropriate functional area is completed. This position may require international travel.
Bachelors degree or 7 10 years equivalent in public administration, project management, or related degree required. Masters degree preferred. PMP certification preferred.
Minimum of five years experience leading project teams. Proven effectiveness in the establishment and readiness of new work sites preferred.
Prior experience working in higher education is preferred.
Ability to manage multiple activities simultaneously and work independently to meet milestones, action items, and quality expectations with ease and efficiency in fast paced environment.
Effective time management, meeting preparation, communication, and customer (internal and external) service skills.
Highly organized, detail oriented, and ability to problem solve effectively;
Integrity, dependability, judgment, and ability to maintain collaborative relationships with multiple groups (management, faculty, staff, students, and international partners)
Strong computer skills, especially in MS Office suite products, e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Project.
