The HR & Budget Coordinator will be responsible for several College of Science budgetary and personnel functions. He/she will serve as the primary contact for all Part-Time Lecturer (PTL) appointments, including operational processes related to hiring and offer letter generation, teaching overloads, and allocating funds for departmental PTL slots each semester. This individual will serve as the primary COS contact for all inquiries regarding the PTL union agreement, including good faith consideration courses. This position will also be responsible for coordinating all unpaid courtesy appointments, volunteers, internships for non-NU students, grant-funded staff appointment renewals, and temporary non-student appointments. He/she will be responsible for ensuring compliance when processing electronic Form I-9's and will serve as SEVIS Contact for his/her caseload (i.e. unpaid appointments, PT Lecturers, and temporary non-students).
Budget responsibilities for this position will include monthly budget reconciliation, processing budgetary transactions (i.e. budget transfers and journal vouchers), and assisting with the procurement of goods/services for the Dean's Office. The incumbent must be able to manage competing priorities, as well as ensure that all paperwork is processed expediently and accurately. They will also be responsible for training departmental budget and personnel administrators on College processes, Banner Finance, and PeopleAdmin, as well as maintaining training documentation on College's Operating Procedures SharePoint page. This position will serve as the backup for the Director of Personnel & Faculty Affairs, as well as the Personnel & Finance Administration Manager as needed.
Bachelors degree required and 2 5 years of relevant human resources and/or finance experience, preferably in higher education. Good interpersonal, organizational and problem solving skills essential. Individual should have the ability to work independently and perform under pressure of deadlines. Financial analysis skills required. Microsoft Office, Word and Excel experience required. Experience with Banner and PeopleAdmin systems preferred.
