Senior Associate Director, Leadership Giving

The Advancement department is recruiting for a Senior Associate Director of Leadership Giving. This position is responsible for planning and implementing strategies for the identification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of leadership gifts to Wittenberg University. The person selected for this position will engage key volunteers, board members, senior administration and faculty members as appropriate, will work closely with all members of the comprehensive campaign team to craft and implement action plans which will inspire the support of donors, and will promote Wittenberg University by sharing the University's mission.
Essential functions include, but are not limited to:
- Identify, cultivate, solicit and steward gifts of $25,000 plus.
- Prepare weekly activity and contact reports. Communicate changes in donor/alumni information to advancement services staff to update records.
- Participate in university events.
- Other duties as assigned.
A bachelor's degree is required, master's degree and/or professional designation is preferred, and a minimum of 3 to 5 years in fundraising or transferable skills such as experience in higher education admissions or recruiting. Additionally, we are looking for demonstrated success with prospects capable of making six and seven figure gifts, effective written and verbal communication skills, the ability to build relationships in support of the University's mission, capital campaign experience, experience in higher education, and a working knowledge of charitable gift planning strategies.
Frequent travel is required as is evening and weekend work. The successful candidate is expected to complete 160 face-to-face visits, with 20 solicitations per year.
