ASSOCIATE DEAN OF RECRUITMENT
Duties: Reporting to the Vice Dean/Director of Admissions, the Associate Dean of Recruitment is responsible for managing the recruitment planning process for domestic and international prospects. The Associate Dean is responsible for developing a comprehensive plan for admissions recruitment and yield initiatives and for implementing a 12-month recruitment calendar. The Associate Dean is also responsible for creating tools to support regional recruitment, leading the training of recruitment staff, and measuring the success and impact of recruitment initiatives. The Associate Dean will be the direct supervisor for three to five admissions officers who oversee recruitment, yield, travel, and event management. S/he will serve as a senior admission officer with territory management responsibilities for the recruitment, evaluation and selection of candidates to Penn's four undergraduate schools: the college of Arts and Sciences, Penn Engineering, Penn Nursing and Wharton. S/he will serve on the Admissions Leadership Board working with the Dean and Vice Deans to plan the strategic direction of the admissions office. The Associate Dean will organize and implement recruitment programs and will serve as a featured public speaker in a range of forums with prospective students, parents, secondary school counselors, and Penn Alumni.
Qualifications: A Bachelor's Degree is required and 5 years to 7 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. Master's Degree preferred. Experience in higher education and selective college admissions preferred. Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills and ability to work with many different constituents essential. Experience with candidate evaluation and selection is important. Must be able to manage, supervise, and motivate a staff. Demonstrated ability to prioritize projects in a high volume and timeline driven environment. A valid driver s license and limited recruitment travel required as needed. Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed.
