Duties: The position will be focused on achieving the aims for the PCORI-funded REGAIN Trial (PI: Dr. Mark Neuman), a multicenter pragmatic trial examining the impact of spinal and general anesthesia on long-term recovery after hip fracture surgery (www.regaintrial.org). This position will report directly to the lead project manager for the REGAIN trial and to the REGAIN trial PI. Key duties of this position will include remote data collection via telephone interview at 60, 180, and 365 days after randomization among enrolled study subjects; reviewing and entering collected data into the study's dedicated remote data collection system; and providing assistance as needed to the study team and leadership in general trial management tasks, potentially including training of site personnel, monitoring and quality assurance functions, assistance in preparation of regulatory documents and required study reports; assisting with study meetings and patient and stakeholder engagement activities; supervising students and other temporary staff; and performing other duties as assigned. For all functions, this position will require understanding and consistent adherence to operating procedures defined in the study manual of procedures and standard operating procedure documents; consistent and effective communication with supervisors and study leadership; and independent problem-solving and critical thinking as needed to effectively track patients over time to minimize loss to follow up.
Qualifications: High School diploma and 3-5 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required. BA degree preferred. Experience in clinical research, regulatory, or medical environment preferred. Effective problems solving abilities, effective communication and writing skills, and detail oriented. Knowledge of medical terminology is helpful as well as MS Office application skills including word and Excel preferred.
