Posting Information: *Assist the Associate Director for the Department of Campus Activities with implementation of leadership programs, resources and assessment of the annual leadership programs. *Serve as the liaison between the Department of Residential Living and the Department of First Year Experience as it relates to leadership programming and the LEAD Living Learning Communities (LLC's). *Responsible for the selection and the advisement of the Freshman Leadership Institute (FLI), a first year leadership initiative designed to assist in the development of leadership skills using the Social Change Model. *Serve as the primary coordinator for CatCamp, a 5 day/4 night leadership retreat for first-year students with a focus on building community among students through development of leadership skills, connecting to the WCU community, and assisting with the transition to college. *Serve as the primary advisor for Cat Camp Leadership Exploration, an extended orientation camp for first-year students with a focus on building community among students through development of leadership skills, connecting to the WCU community, and assisting with the transition to college. *Teach sections of the academic-based leadership courses including but not limited to LEAD 140 (Freshman Leadership Institute- Leadership and Transitioning) and LEAD 180 (Introduction to Leadership). *Assists with the planning, development, coordination, and assessment of annual leadership programs: Disney Leadership Experience, Freshman Leadership Institute (FLI) Whee LEAD Student Leadership Conference, and Cat Camp Leadership Exploration. *Convene monthly meetings and meet with key LEAD LLC partners. *Serve as a member of various committees and task forces within the WCU community.
Minimum Training & Experience Requirements: Master's Degree required with concentration in College Student Personnel, Higher Education Administration, Leadership or related field preferred plus 1 year job-related experience in a University setting. Knowledge and ability to apply leadership theories, concepts, and practices to programs, curriculum instruction, and other activities. Valid Driver's License.
Preferred Qualifications: 1.Exemplary organizational skills with a strong emphasis on detail. 3.Experience in planning programs and events 4.Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills. 5.Ability to prioritize workload according to volume, urgency, etc. 6.Evening and weekend work is required. 7.Strong computer skills using Windows, Microsoft Word, Excel, and internet. 8.Strong leadership and program planning skills.
