Job Description:

The Department of Epidemiology is recruiting a non-tenure track faculty member at the Research Assistant Scientist level. The Department is situated jointly within the College of Public Health and Health Professions and the College of Medicine in the new Clinical and Translational Research Building, facilitating collaborative multidisciplinary research. Faculty members teach in the MS and PhD in Epidemiology programs and the Master of Public Health program and participate in student mentoring. Our current faculty are leaders in aging, cancer, cardiac, chronic, environmental, infectious, substance abuse and psychiatric epidemiology. The Department works closely with the NIH-funded Clinical and Translational Science Institute and is home to HealthStreet and a Fogarty International Center Training Grant.

The position will be supported by NIH-funded projects in behavioral epidemiology for HIV and other infectious and non-infectious diseases. The position duties include but are not limited to the following: preparing new research grants, conducting literature search, performing data processing, conducting statistical analysis, and preparing manuscripts for publication.

Additional major institutes and centers located at the University of Florida include the Emerging Pathogens Institute, the Institute of Child Health Policy, the UF Health Cancer Center, the UF Genetics Institute, the Clinical and Translational Science Institute and the McKnight Brain Institute, all of which provide state-of-the-art environments and access to large data sets for faculty collaboration.

Advertised Salary:

Salary is negotiable; commensurate with education and experience.

Minimum Requirements:

An appropriate doctoral level degree in epidemiology or a relevant related discipline. 

Preferred Qualifications:Successful candidates must have substantial expertise in Epidemiology and a strong publication record.Special Instructions to Applicants:
