The University of Florida's Center for Respiratory Research and Rehabilitation (CRRR) and the UF College of Medicine invite applications and nominations for two, tenure-accruing faculty positions. 

We seek dynamic, collaborative individuals with strong track records in research including extramural funding and scholarly publications.  Preference will be given to individuals with expertise in respiratory neurobiology, pathophysiology or neuromuscular plasticity, neuromuscular disorders that compromise breathing (e.g., ALS, SCI, Pompe, DMD), intermittent hypoxia and/or cell/gene therapy (CRRR strengths).  The primary focus of these appointments is research, but teaching and/or service consistent with a candidate's expertise are expected.

The Center for Respiratory Research and Rehabilitation unites basic and clinician scientists at the University of Florida who are committed to understanding the physiological challenges to respiratory motor control in health and disease, and to translate that knowledge into strategies of respiratory rehabilitation for clinical disorders that compromise breathing and other, non-respiratory movements.  Additional information about the CRRR is available at

Advertised Salary:

Salary is negotiable.

Minimum Requirements:

Candidates must have an earned doctorate, preferably in a health-related field (Ph.D., M.D. or equivalent), a strong publication record, and a recognized record of research and scholarship.  Candidates to be appointed at the associate or full professor rank are expected to have a significant record of extramural funding.  Candidates to be appointed at the assistant professor rank are expected to have three of more years of postdoctoral experience.  The selected candidates' academic appointment will be in an appropriate College of Medicine department, with an academic rank commensurate with experience and accomplishment.  These positions offer a highly competitive salary and an excellent fringe benefits package.  Research start-up funding will be provided.
