About Texas Lutheran University
Texas Lutheran University is a private, liberal arts and sciences university associated with the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA). On a spacious 184-acre campus just 30 miles from San Antonio and 50 miles from Austin, TLU offers 28 majors, 37 minors and 13 pre-professional programs. TLU also offers three master’s programs including a new master’s in data analytics.
TLU has a highly qualified and dedicated faculty. Classes average 18 students with no class larger than 50 students. Student/faculty ratio is 14:1. The University has 88 full-time and 64 part-time faculty (not including coaches). Eighty-six percent of full-time faculty members hold a doctorate or other terminal degree.
TLU has been recognized repeatedly in U.S. News & World Report as a “Best College” and “Best Value” among colleges in the Western region. TLU has also been named one of the “Great Colleges to Work For” by The Chronicle of Higher Education for five consecutive years.
