About Northeast Wisconsin Technical College

Founded in 1912, Northeast Wisconsin Technical College is a nationally-recognized, two-year public college. Last year, nearly 33,500 individuals chose NWTC to prepare for their careers or start their bachelor’s degrees. Ninety-four percent of 2016 NWTC graduates were employed within six months of graduation. Hundreds of students transferred their credits to four-year universities.

NWTC is setting the student success standard for the state’s technical colleges. In 2010, NWTC was the first college in Wisconsin to join Achieving the Dream, a nonprofit dedicated to helping community college students succeed. Under the leadership of President H. Jeffrey Rafn, student success has truly become the center of our work. As a result, last year the College was named a finalist for the American Association of Community College Awards of Excellence in the Student Success category and a finalist for the Hobson’s Award in the category of student success and advising.

NWTC’s service-learning programs have connected students, faculty, and staff with hundreds of civic and service groups and touched thousands of lives in Northeast Wisconsin. In recognition, NWTC has been named to the President’s Higher Education Community Service Honor Roll several times, most recently in 2014 and 2015.
