For more than 90 years Murray State University has served students from the region, the nation and the world. The University’s Quality Enhancement Plan – Bringing Learning to Life – is an institutional priority and is anchored in the University’s mission. Experiential learning, study abroad programs and personal attention shown by faculty, give Murray State students the opportunity to succeed. Approximately 300 Murray State students studied abroad in more than 20 countries last year. Close to 800 international students representing nearly 60 different countries are enrolled in Murray State’s undergraduate and graduate programs.

Murray State University is composed of six academic colleges and schools: the Arthur J. Bauernfeind College of Business, College of Education and Human Services, College of Humanities and Fine Arts, Hutson School of Agriculture, Jesse D. Jones College of Science, Engineering, and Technology, and the School of Nursing and Health Professions. The University extends its services through regional campuses in Paducah, Hopkinsville, Madisonville, and Henderson, Fort Campbell, and also through its distance learning programs. The University includes nearly 11,000 total students.

Murray State University has consistently ranked among the top universities in the nation in U.S.News & World Report's annual publication, America's Best Colleges. Additionally, The Chronicle of Higher Education has named Murray State a "Great College to Work For" for six of the past seven years.

Recognition of the quality of Murray State programs is reflected in accreditations. Located in the Jackson Purchase lake area of west Kentucky, Murray State is located in Murray, Kentucky, a friendly town that provides shopping, culture, great restaurants and friendly faces. The nearby Land Between the Lakes National Recreation area is just 20 miles away and offers hiking, biking, fishing and more.
