Founded in 1829, Rochester Institute of Technology is an internationally recognized leader in professional and career-oriented education. RIT is a coeducational, privately endowed Institute, enrolling more than 15,000 undergrad and graduate students in eight colleges. RIT's modern 1,300-acre campus is located in Rochester, New York, the third largest city in the state. The campus consists of 238 buildings total (5.1 million sq. ft.). Approximately 100,000 Alumni from all 50 states and more than 100 nations. Its eight colleges include Applied Science and Technology, Business, Computing and Information Sciences, Engineering, Imaging Arts and Sciences, Liberal Arts, Science, and the primarily federally funded National Technical Institute for the Deaf.
