This is a full-time tenure track position at the rank of Assistant Professor, which begins August 2014 in the Business Department.
The preferred candidate for this position will be expected to teach a maximum of 15 credit hours per semester at the undergraduate level, participate in departmental and university activities, and provide academic advising. The primary teaching area is Accounting, with a desired secondary focus in managerial and personal finance. A candidate is sought who embraces the efficient and effective conveyance of Accounting knowledge in both the Financial and Managerial disciplines. A thorough understanding of Accounting Theory and FASB’s Conceptual Framework is mandatory.
CPA and MBA or related Master’s degree required; Doctoral degree preferred.
Demonstrated successful teaching experience at the college/university level, both in the classroom and in mentoring students outside the classroom, as evidenced by documented favorable student and peer reviews. Excellent communication, computer, and organizational skills are required. CMA, CFP®, or other credentials valued by the Business Department
Preference will be given to candidates with industry and management-related work experience. Flexibility with regard to teaching other management/business courses will be viewed favorably.
Strong preference for candidates who demonstrate knowledge of innovative learning technologies and program delivery, along with online teaching experience in highly collaborative discussion-based asynchronous courses.
